Sunday 12.3
Kelly and I ran some errands today while Thomas spent time with his grandpa. We stopped at Flint’s Corner, a place we used to go often, and got a steak and cheese and some mozzarella sticks. It wasn’t that great which is maybe why we don’t go there much anymore.
I cooked dinner tonight for everyone. I made swordfish with romesco sauce. It was excellent. I need to share that recipe at some point. Send me a note if you need it. I also made asparagus and rice. I thought the out of season asparagus was bland, but apparently I was the only one who minded.

Monday 12.4
We almost always take out of town company to Karma, and we always go there when my dad is in town. We got crab rangoon, chicken wings, and sushi. It was delicious but our favorite waitress Amanda wasn’t there. That was disappointing.

Tuesday 12.5
My mom arrived today. I made a very interesting pasta with pork, shallot, sage, and butternut squash cream sauce. It was a great hit and I will absolutely make it again. I also made a simple salad and got a baguette.

Wednesday 12.6
We took Thomas to Dave & Buster’s for dinner tonight. The food there is better than you would expect. For what’s basically and arcade/sports bar the burger isn’t half bad. The wings were ok too, but I didn’t take a picture of them.

Thursday 12.7
We took Thomas to the mall today and I figured we could all have some pizza for lunch so we went to Frank Pepe’s. I’ve been there a couple of times and I really like their pizza. Today we got the meatball ricotta and despite a little bit of burnt crust it was very good. I was going to skip diner but mom was hungry so I made a quick asparagus frittata with leftover romesco and toast.

Friday 12.8
Mom volunteered to babysit tonight so Kelly and I went out for dinner. We went to Brassica Kitchen in Jamaica Plain. It was a great meal and I particularly liked the fried chicken and the chorizo tacos. I took my mom to an early lunch at Karma before that so she had something good to eat too. Like I said earlier, I take all visitors there. Inspired by last Friday’s visit to Akame Nigiri I got two types of snapper. Mom got pad thai.

Saturday 12.9
Mom and I went to the Concord Cheese Shop to get sandwiches. I got a Phils’ Fabulous and some tomato-mozzarella salad. It was good as always but I forgot to take a picture. Maybe I was too hungry. For dinner we got takeout from Holi in Bedford. I ordered everything mild because Mom doesn’t like anything too spicy. We had Chicken Vindaloo and Chicken Chaat. We also had Lamb Samosas.

Top Three
I did some pretty good cooking this week, but I also had a really great meal at Brassica. That’s going to knock out the top three. Here are the three best things I ate:
3. Romesco Sauce (Sunday and Thursday)
2. Fried Chicken (Friday)
1. Butternut Squash Pasta (Tuesday)
