We took a trip out to the Berkshires and while we were pretty far from the coast, that didn’t mean there was no chowder. We stopped at a little pizza place in Sheffield and put their chowder to the quest.
12oz $7.00 16oz $10.00

Clams
Fair amount of clams, but could use some more.
Cream and Consistency
This chowder is pretty thick and creamy.
Potatoes
Lots of potatoes and good sized but not great texture.
Garnish
A little parsley on top and french bread on the side.
Everything Else
There is corn in this chowder, whatever else might be there, you won’t notice because of the corn.
Not Chowder
The pizza and fries were solid choices. The fries were piping hot and crispy. The meatball pizza was nice and saucy.
The Verdict
There is corn chowder and there is clam chowder. Someday the Chowder Quest might venture out into other chowders, but today is not that day. Before we tried Roberto’s I couldn’t have told you not to mix corn chowder and clam chowder together, but now I know it’s not a good idea. Sadly, this wouldn’t be a bad chowder if they just left out the corn. It could have scored a three or a four, but the corn ruined it.
