The roast beef at Tessie’s isn’t big. It’s gigantic. Even the Junior Beef comes piled high, so high that a normal person needs a fork to eat it. The Big Beef costs $11.99 and comes on a buttered and grilled sesame seed bun. The three way has two slices of cheese, one on the top and one on the bottom with a small amount of mayo on top. It is doused in barbecue sauce.
The beef is high quality, tender and rare, but it needs more seasoning. Tessi’s could improve it by adding some salt and pepper to the middle of the tall stack of beef. The barbecue sauce is flat despite being rather spicy.

The Verdict: โง
It’s hard not to love a generous helping of beef, but this isn’t a balanced sandwich. There is too much beef, too much sauce and not enough cheese or mayo. The bigger problem is that the beef is under-seasoned and the barbecue sauce, which dominates the whole sandwich, just isn’t very good. It’s not a bad sandwich, but it isn’t one I’m going back for.
