My wife sent me a reel of the French dip at Summer Street Grocers. It looked so good that we went there to give it a try, but they were out of the bread. I ended up with the fried chicken sandwich, which was great, but I have to get back to try that French dip.

Here’s a new cheese for 2026, Schnebelhorn. I got a piece at The Concord Cheese shop to have before Sunday’s supper. It has a slight onion flavor that was really appealing.

For Sunday supper, I made a lamb roast with romesco sauce. Lamb was awesome, but the sauce had too much garlic. Also, mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts with bacon and onions.

I got these chips at the Concord Cheese Shop. They really do taste like goat cheese with a little spice from the peppers. They are kinda weird but I’d get them again.

Salmon from 80 Thoreau – Celeriac, Wild Rice, Wax Beans, Crispy Leeks – I had a similar dish before and I still really love this.

It was a little cold by the time it got to my house, but the meatball on this pizza from DiNapoli in Littleton is fantastic. I like the sauce too, but I wish it was more saucy.

The Cuban at the Real Deal in West Roxbury: good flavor, loads of mustard, bread needed to be pressed more, there was some big hunks of fat in the pork (depending on how you like it, that could be good or bad).

Homemade Italian Salad – lettuce, carrot, red peppers, red onion, cheese, salami. Dressing was homemade with oil, vinegar, spicy mustard, honey, thyme, oregano, and garlic powder.

Our first visit to The Tack Room in Lincoln, MA. The Lamb Rack “Shepherd’s Pie” had good flavor, but was missing the peas and onions described on the menu and I’m not sure it was supposed to have mashed potatoes. I’ll be back to try again.

The churros from The Tack Room. I particularly liked the ice cream.
