Roast Beef: Mad Matt’s – Woburn, MA

More Roast Beef

Mad Matt’s opened in late December of 2025. It’s in the former location of WuBuger which we loved when it opened. It is connected to Nick’s Place in Burlington and the beef is similar. Like Nick’s, they put a ball of thinly sliced beef on a toasted bun. Unlike Nick’s they don’t season the beef which is a big mistake.

The super beef is served on a toasted onion roll with very thin sliced beef, mayo on top and cheese on the bottom. They use a ton of bbq sauce. You can’t see the beef and there is sauce all over the plate. A super beef costs $12.85.

The Verdict: โœง
This beef almost doesn’t get a star, but the tables all around us raved about theirs, and the place was packed at 2:00 on a Saturday. There is way too much bbq sauce and it was rather bland. The beef need salt and pepper and there isn’t enough cheese for all that beef. The bun was a little too toasted and even though the beef wasn’t as thin as Nick’s, it’s still a lump of beef. At least the beef was better than the buffalo fingers which are mass produced and frozen.
