What I ate last week: February 6, 2026

The pain chocolat is good, but the Cinnamon Roll is amazing. It’s hard to pass up breakfast at Eva’s Little Kitchen.

The buffalo in the Buffalo Parm Sub isn’t very pronounced but the crispiness of this chicken even under all that sauce is spectacular. I would get this over and over again. I’ll be back to Tom’s Pizza in Newton for more.

For Sunday Supper I tried making tamales. I think they turned out well. The extra spicy black beans were very good.

Leftovers: chicken from the tamale stuffing over white rice, the rest of the spicy black beans, some queso fresco, and the fresh salsa I forgot to serve last night.

I had plans to have a quesadilla and wings at the Colonial Inn, but they are renovating their kitchen and so I was left with clam chowder.

When I was in Arizona about this time last year, I really enjoyed Sonoran dogs. I made these with those in mind: bacon, salsa, queso fresco, mayo, mustard, green hot sauce.

Delicious mashed potatoes. Perfect green beans. Beautiful, juicy pork tenderloin.
