This week I got the breakfast sandwich from Eva’s, but I also got the cinnamon roll because it’s too hard to pass up.

I spent Saturday night at a Cambodian party. There was so much food and I ate way too much, but the best was these lemon grass-kafir lime beef skewers.

After the Cambodian party and a Super Bowl party, a simple roast beef sub from New London was all I was in the mood for tonight.

We haven’t been back to Fiorella’s since it opened and it will probably be a long time before we go again. The meatballs were ok but they were topped with some cold cheese spread and the sauce wasn’t much more than ketchup. But the real issue is their terrible salad. The greens were unpleasant, the dressing was bland and the four tomatoes, onions, and cucumbers didn’t do much to give it taste. No thanks. I’ll pass.

Cabbage braised in apple juice with bacon and onions topped with seared, roasted chicken thigh and creamy mustard sauce, garnished with scallions.

I really like Dino’s. I just had an amazing meatball sub there, but the Cuban fell a little short. Too much bread and the pork was more sliced than pulled. I wouldn’t recommend it, but it’s not bad. Certainly a lot better than that awful salad I ate a couple days ago.

Pizza from New London with salami, feta, and green peppers. Try it.
