Another Saturday morning at Eva’s, I tried the savory danish which had buffalo chicken in it. Sounds a little crazy but it was pretty good. I’d like to try more savory flavors from there.

One of the first things I ever made for my wife was Green Chili Chicken so for Valentine’s Day I made it again.

I also bought her some raspberry heart cookies.

Let’s get to vacation. Like most of my plane trips, I started out with some clam chowder from Legal’s.

I don’t have high hopes for airplane food, and this wasn’t terrible, but it was cold, ice cold. The corn salad was nice and even cold it was good, but the cold green beans weren’t. The chicken had good flavor, but I don’t know why they couldn’t heat it up. It might have been good.

The first thing I ate in England was a sausage roll at GAIL’s in Bath. Yes it’s a chain, but this thing blew my mind, so much flavor. I would fly back just to eat one of these again. I tried to get another one before I left but unfortunately it didn’t work out.

Dinner at The Architect in Bath. I missed out on fish and chips the last time I was in England so for my first dinner I made sure I ordered it. I especially loved the mushy peas which had mint in them.

We haven’t had a lot of luck with eggs benedict lately, (I think I wrote that in another post recently) but the ones at the Pump Room were perfect.

I like trying new things at McDonald’s when out of the country. This is the Chicken Tikka Snack Wrap. Pretty good, absolutely gigantic compared to the American snack wrap. I’d get that again.

Tea at Sally Lunn’s – Salmon, Egg Salad, Brie and Cranberry, Salt Beef and Honey Mustard.

Hayes Snack Bar is the “oldest snack bar in Wales”, whatever that means. We got the Festive Toastie – Turkey, Bacon, Cheese, Stuffing, and Cranberry. Bacon doesn’t mean bacon in Wales. Still a really good sandwich.

The Welsh Cakes at Cardiff Bakestones are absolutely divine. There’s a long line, but it’s well worth the wait.

I had a spectacular dinner at Thomas, the brasserie. This Short Rib & Suet Pudding with a side of the best creamed spinach I have had in about a decade was heavenly.

Wild boar bangers at Bishop’s Mill Pub.

A venison and black pudding scotch egg at Haunch of Venison, established 1320.

So not the best food I ate, but it was from the Stonehenge Visitor Center so that makes it a very cool sausage roll and hash brown.

My last meal in the UK, a spicy doner with chips from Hot Spot Fish Bar near Heathrow.
