Sunday 8.28
After last night my weight was way up today so I needed to eat light. I had a turkey sandwich for lunch and then for dinner a bowl of soup. This was the best the soup tasted, maybe because it had sat for a few days and come together, maybe because I added fresh lime juice, or maybe because I was starving.

Monday 8.29
My weight was in better shape today which is good because I ended up eating a donut. I also had the Grown Up Grilled Cheese from The Real Deal. It was good and I would get it again even though the bottom of the bread got pretty soggy from all the bbq sauce. For dinner I made a plate of turkey, cheese, cornichons, and pretzel sticks.

Tuesday 8.29
My in-laws watched Thomas for an hour this morning so Kelly and I could attend to a matter in Lowell. I picked him up about 10:30 and was starving. I convinced him to go to lunch at Comets Diner in Tyngsboro. I got the All American Breakfast plus I got to have his sausage links since he won’t try those. I did try a bite of his Mickey Mouse chocolate chip pancake and it was more chocolate than pancake.
For dinner I made a salad. I used lettuce, peppers, radish, and carrot from my farm share. I also used tomatoes Kelly brought home from work. I topped it with steak, parmesan, and homemade dressing. For dessert we all had a little chocolate.

Wednesday 8.30
My son started Kindergarten today. Kelly and I got him on the bus together before heading to work. I had a few slices of DeNo’s Sicilian pizza for lunch, sausage, hamburger, and onion. We had a staff lunch. But for dinner we took Thomas out to Dave and Buster’s to celebrate his big day. I had never been to one before. Kelly and I split a burger and the spicy Korean boneless wings. The wings were pretty bad but the burger was pretty good.

Thursday 8.31
I had a plans to have lunch with my friend at 1:00 but it got pushed back and I knew I couldn’t go that long without eating. So I had a half of a chicken caesar wrap for lunch. At 2:30 I went to Il Massimo, but I also knew I was going to have dinner at home after that so I just got the burrata. It was my first time having it and I really enjoyed it. The cheese was good, but it also came with roasted red peppers and prosciutto. Of course, I could help but have a few bites of Gretchen’s tiramisu too.
For dinner, I had made a roasted tomatillo salsa verde last night, and I used it to dress pan-seared swordfish. I also made a little rice to go with it. The sauce was really good and luckily I have some leftover.

Friday 9.1
I started out the day nibbling on some pretzels, but then a package appeared on my door. It was an early birthday present from my mom filled with Imo’s pizzas. Since I was home with my son for the day, I popped a cheese pizza in the oven and we shared it for lunch.
For dinner, we went to 80 Thoreau for their special tasting dinner featuring local corn and tomatoes. It was a fantastic dinner, particularly the steak with heirloom grits. Also delicious was the corn semifreddo, similar to a sweet corn ice cream. After dinner we stopped at Karma for a night cap and I munched on some of my son’s french fries. I ended the night with a chocolate cream donut from Doughboy.

Saturday 9.2
The morning started where the night ended with donuts from Doughboy. I had a jelly donut that was excellent. For dinner we went to Buff’s Pub. I have heard about Buff’s for years, but for some reason never went there. I got the lemon pepper garlic parmesan tenders which were amazing. Of course we got the buffalo wings, which were good, but not saucy enough. Then Kelly and I split a burger and fries which I wouldn’t get again. After dinner we went over to Rancatore’s where I got banana ice cream.
