Sunday 10.15
Despite how much I ate last night, I woke up in the mood for food. I had brunch reservations at Stillwater which had good food, but lacked in service and atmosphere. The pancake was very good even if Kelly ate most of it. The tater tots and sausage links were also good. The tacos and deviled eggs were just ok and I would pass on the pop tarts if I go there again. I stopped at McDonald’s to get my son some dinner and had a deal for free fries so that was my dinner.

Monday 10.16
Another Monday of not being happy with the number on the scale, but that was to be expected. I decided to go very light today. I had some pretzels, cashews, and raisins as a daytime snack. For dinner, I had a turkey and cheese sandwich with a few more pretzels.

Tuesday 10.17
I was at Emanuel College for a conference today and I thought we were going to get to eat in the dining hall, but they ended up catering our meeting. I had a half of a chicken caesar wrap, half of a roast beef wrap and some tortellini salad.
For dinner, I made herbed trout in a lemon-wine butter sauce. I served it with mashed potatoes and asparagus with crispy onions and garlic. We had a half bottle of white wine that I picked up at the grocery store. The food was good. The wine was disappointing.

Wednesday 10.18
For the second day in a row, work provided me lunch. Today I had half a chicken salad sandwich, half a rather bad roast beef sandwich and some chips. Kelly requested a frittata for dinner. I made asparagus-leek frittata with gruyere, bacon, and toast with jam. We also had mimosas because if you have brunch for dinner, you should have a brunch cocktail.

Thursday 10.19
I was able to wait all the way until Thursday before going to DeNo’s, mostly because I was out of the office the past two days. I decided to get a burger today. It wasn’t bad, but not as good as it has been. In the evening, I had a cocktail reception at PWC in the Seaport where I got to eat some passed hors d’oeuvres, shrimp, chicken, beef on toast, and a scallop wrapped in bacon.
That wasn’t enough food, so afterwards I went over to SAVR which is located in the St. Regis. I just wanted something small so I tried the Wagyu Beef Carpaccio and a glass of wine. I also had some bread with olive oil. The bread was quite good, but the carpaccio needed more salt. I wouldn’t go for it again.

Friday 10.20
For lunch, I ate the leftover slice of frittata from Wednesday’s dinner along with some cashews and pretzels. For dinner we went to Buff’s Bub in Newton. We tried a few new things, but got the lemon pepper garlic parmesan tenders again because they were so good the last time. I was still a big fan. We also tried the Nashville Spicy Chicken sandwich. It was good, but I think the sauce had too much cumin. We got onion rings, which have a bread crumb coating rather than a batter. We also got the potato skins. They were pretty good, but would have benefited from some scallions. After dinner we went to Rancatore’s where I got a microscoop of pumpkin maple pecan. I’d get that again.

Saturday 10.21
Pub food and ice cream did a number on my weight, so I went light today. I had a roast pork and cheese sandwich with pretzels for lunch. Then ate a little more as a snack later. I also had a slice of the chocolate chip banana bread Kelly made. That was delicious.

Top Three
I really didn’t eat that much this week. I only have one link. Also, you might have noticed I’m not posting every little thing I eat, just the more interesting ones. I am just running out of steam documenting everything and frankly it’s probably boring to see so many pictures of pretzels. Here are the three best things I ate:
3. Lemon Pepper Garlic Parmesan Tenders (Friday)
2. Pancake (Sunday)
1. Pan Seared Trout (Tuesday)

I’m intrigued – how did you manage to find asparagus in your autumn? It is high asparagus season here in the Southern Hemisphere.
We have asparagus year round, though it is usually only local in May. This was surprisingly good for being out of season.
