Omar’s Bistro

  • A shockingly great restaurant in the back of a comic book shop.
  • Their burger is particularly excellent.

(Nov 4, 2023) I had a really great burger today in an unlikely spot.

Before I tell you where, I’ll tell you a bit about the burger. It’s two juicy four ounce patties, house cheese, lettuce, pickles, onions, and secret sauce on a brioche bun. They ground their beef in house and it has enough fat that even cooked through it’s not at all dry. But the cheese, yes the house cheese. They go to the trouble of blending cheeses from a local dairy into a single block which they slice to top this burger. It all comes together to make the best burger in town.

So where is this special sandwich? It’s in a comic book store. That’s right Omar’s Bistro, the casual dining spot inside of a comic book store has the best burger in Lexington, MA. Now if you aren’t into comic books, it might feel a little strange to eat here. You order your food at the comic book counter then head upstairs where they have both a gaming room (three words: Mario Kart Mondays) and a dining space. The food is then delivered to your table.

In addition to the NPC (that’s the name of the burger), they have chicken and pizza. My son got the chicken fingers and fries and we also tried the Nashville Hot Chicken Bites. Fries come with the burger, traditional or parmesan-aioli for an upcharge. Bottled soft drinks are available, but they are also working on getting a soda fountain.

Everyone was very friendly and the space is clean and bright. If you are imagining an old, dingy store filled with musty comic books, shake it off. And if you feel a little weird going into a comic book store to eat, get over it and go get this burger.
