Giuseppi’s – Hilton Head Island, SC

  • Giuseppi’s is a casual, family-friendly restaurant serving vacationers for over 40 years.
  • Pizza and wings is a best bet for a great meal
  • Single slices are available with your choice of toppings
  • They don’t take reservations, so be prepared to wait

Giuseppi’s Pizza & Pasta House has two locations, one in Blufton and the other in Shelter Cove Plaza on Hilton Head Island. Established in 1984, Giuseppi’s is a casual restaurant, decorated in Pittsburg Steelers memorabilia, great for both families and groups. They are part of the SERG Restaurant Group which operates a number of well known spots in and around the island, including Nectar and the Skull Creek restaurants.

According to the menu, Giuseppi’s has award winning wings. They did place third in the 2019 Hilton Head Wingfest. But their wings are better than a third place finish and a smart way to start a meal. Sauces include: mild, xtra hot, sweet n’ spicy Hawaiian, and Italian Buffalo. The xtra hot have good heat without being overwhelming.

Pizza is what Giuseppi’s is most famous for, and many grab a pie or three to take back to their resort. In addition to whole pizzas, they offer pizza by the slice, topped to your liking, a great option for families with picky eaters. The Over/Under Double Pepperoni Pie, not available by the slice, is loaded with Ezzo Pepperoni both under the cheese and then again on top of it.

Beyond pizza and wings, Giuseppi’s has Weggies, a unique sandwich served on pizza crust. They also have a few traditional sandwiches, calzones, pasta, salads, and dessert. The bar serves beer and wine as well as island cocktails including a very good Peachtree Palmer and of course Giuseppi’s Rum Punch. The menu tries to upsell a little here, but if all the drinks are available without the souvenir glass at a discount.

Giuseppi’s is a favorite on the island and they do not take reservations so wait times can get pretty long, but they take guests’ cell number and text when the table is ready, allowing them to go off and do something while waiting. It’s worth the wait for the delicious food and good drinks, a perfect compliment to a family beach vacation.

On our 2025 trip to HHI we stopped at Giuseppi’s again. Even though it was early we had about a half hour wait. We got wings which were as good as they were in the past. We also tried a special pizza which was ok but not as good as the over/under pepperoni pie. The black beans on it were the best part.
