Tucked into a small store front just a block off of Times Square is Kung Fu Little Steamed Buns Ramen. The dining room seats about thirty guests in close quarters with smaller parties sharing tables. As the name implies, the menu is centered around steamed buns and ramen.
The Michelin guide calls their soup dumplings “the best soup dumplings in town,” but the pork and shrimp dumplings are even more impressive and cannot be missed. Pan-fried peking duck buns are likewise excellent with delectable meat inside soft pillowy buns. There is no alcohol at Kung Fu, but tea is available from Ho Ho Te a few doors down.
There are no reservations and lines can run out the door, but with dumplings ranging in price from ten to fifteen dollars, Kung Fu is an NYC bargain. A meal for three ran about $100.
