Local 11Ten – Savannah, GA – Concord Culinary Lyceum

Local 11Ten is a contemporary restaurant in the Victorian District of Savannah.

A pork chop and an olive oil cake both highlighted exquisite Georgia peaches.

Most years, I visit Savanna either before or after my trip to Hilton Head. And most years, I spend a good amount of time looking for a restaurant only to be disappointed. Not this year. It has been a long time since I enjoyed a meal in Savannah as much as I did at Local 11Ten.

Local 11Ten is located just a block from Forsyth Park in the Victorian District. The space which formerly the housed the Old Savannah Bank, had been converted to a modern space which hosts intimate dinner dates as well as large gatherings. There were three parties of eight to ten dining simultaneously on the night we were there.

The menu is contemporary, but features local ingredients and southern flavors. Peaches were the star of the meal included fresh with a thick, juicy pork chop and cooked down to accent a warm olive oil cake. Corn also made multiple appearances, first in a tomato salad, then creamed with the aforementioned chop, and finally in an ice cream alongside the olive oil cake. Every dish was delicious and every bite was packed with flavor.

The cocktail program was an additional pleasure. I enjoyed the ananas delizioso made with gin, pineapple-infused aperitif, and blanc vermouth. Also outstanding was the sunshine daisy made with vodka, apricot liqueur, triple sec, and lime juice. But most of all I was excited to try Conniption Kinship, a purple gin from North Carolina served in a gin and tonic. With dessert we had house-made lemoncello.
