Unlike most of the great Texas barbecue, it’s not necessary to line up early in the morning to eat at The Pit Room. There is bbq even in the late afternoon. While they specialize in brisket, they are known for their breakfast tacos. Those do require an early morning visit. Other menu items include three types of sausage, daytime tacos, and red Texas chili.
There are two locations, but the original is on Richmond Avenue. There they have two buildings, one for food and another which is a full bar. There is plenty of outdoor seating both inside and outside. Lunch for three ran just over $100 without drinks, but a two meat dinner, which comes with two sides and a slice of white bread is just $24. The breakfast tacos are all $5 or less.
