The chowder at Sea Level Oyster Bar in Newburyport has a creamy, thick consistency, but the clams were a little tough. And while the potatoes were good, the chowder needed a little more flavor to jump to the next level.
Roberto’s Pizza – โงโง
There is corn chowder and there is clam chowder. You shouldn't try to mix the two, but Roberto's does. It's not successful, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't get their meatball pizza.
Kelly’s Roast Beef – โง
Kelly's Roast Beef's chowder is disappointing. Despite ample clams and potatoes, the chowder's watery consistency and off-tasting flavor stopped us from even finishing it. Other menu items like fried shrimp and roast beef sandwiches also failed to impress, leading to a verdict of do not visit Kelly's.
The Banks – โงโงโงโงโง
In 2023, The Banks was named the best chowder in Boston by Boston Magazine. Although thiner and less creamy than Legal's, the flavor of this chowder, which has subtle bacon flavor, was very impressive. The chive oil garnish and the dinner roll made this already excellent chowder even more special.
Kimball Farm – โงโงโงโง
Kimball Farm in Westford is more known for ice cream and golf than clam chowder, but it turns out they have a good one. It has lots of clams and potatoes, but they serve it way too hot.
