Sunday 10.8
We took a trip to New Hampshire today. I had some Chex mix on the ride up to Campton where we visited The Little Red Schoolhouse on their last weekend of service for the year. I went with the A+ Lobster Roll and garlic fries. I also stole some bites of my family’s meals. After that, we took a ride down Rt3 to Belmont, NH to visit Stone Mountain Farm. There we got apple cider donuts. I ate two. They were excellent.

Monday 10.9
Kelly had suggested yesterday that we have lunch at All Star Sandwich Bar, so that’s what we did. I hadn’t been in years, and it looks about the same with the addition of a table for all the Uber Eats drivers to pick up their deliveries from. I had the Mr. Miyagi which was very good and we all shared an order of fries. Lunch was late so for “dinner” I had a cup of maple tea and a leftover cider donut heated up in the microwave.

Tuesday 10.10
Yesterday after All Star Sandwich Bar, I stopped at Christina’s and picked up a new curry powder. I spent a good chunk of last night and some of today thinking about my curry method. For lunch I just grabbed a roast beef sub from DeNo’s. Then stopped at Crosby’s on my way home to pick up a few things for my curry.
Here’s my quick version of the recipe. I pureed onion, garlic, and ginger in the food processor. I chopped chicken and seasoned it with 2 tsp of curry powder. Then I fried it in 1/3 cup of oil. I took it out and added the onion mixture along with four cardamom pods and another tsp of curry powder. (too much?) I cooked that down then added 2 cups of diced squash and the chicken. Then I added 1/3 cup of water and 150g of plain yogurt. I cooked the whole thing on low for about an hour. I served it over rice with some fresh cilantro. I didn’t love it, but I’ll keep trying.

Wednesday 10.11
I didn’t want to go to DeNo’s two days in a row so I went to Christo’s instead, which is kinda the same but not as good. I had a steak and cheese and some chips. For dinner, I made chicken sandwiches with spicy mayo and fried onions. I ate more chips with dinner. I also snacked on some pretzels and cashews earlier. Not my best food day.

Thursday 10.12
I went to a third sub shop in three days today, this time West Napoli. I had gotten delivery from there but never been. The dining room was very nice and the chicken parm sub was good, but too hot. I burnt my tongue. For dinner I made steak with collards and chipotle squash. I should have stopped eating there, but I went for a drink with Michael and ended up eating one shrimp from his shrimp cocktail at Eddie V’s. That wasn’t a big deal. But then he ordered nachos at Tavern in the Square and I ate some of them too. I’ll have to do better tomorrow.

Friday 10.13
I didn’t really eat much all day, just snacked. For dinner we got a buffalo chicken pizza from New London. It was a little different today, the crust was not how it normally is and whoever cut it did a crappy job. But that didn’t stop me from eating five slices, way more than I should have.

Saturday 10.14
I avoided lunch because I knew I was going to have a big dinner. Kelly and I went to see Yo-Yo Ma at the BSO, and we went to Uni beforehand. Particularly excellent was the bluefish pate and the quail. Read and see more here. After the show we stopped at the Oak Long Bar. The service was poor and we couldn’t get a seat at the bar. We wanted dessert, and they didn’t have any on the late night menu, but we did enjoy the burger and fries.

Top Three
I’m publishing this one a little late, my week was pretty hectic and I could barely keep up with what I was eating day to day. I had some really excellent food, and went to a few fun places. Here are the three best things I ate:
3. Apple Cider Donut (Sunday)
2. Mr. Miyagi (Monday)
1. Quail (Saturday)
