Bandoleros opened in Concord in March of 2024 in a space that has sat empty for many years since the closure of Serafina. This is owner Elmer Melendez’s second location. The first has been operating in Devens, MA since 2021.
Bandoleros has a large Mexican menu featuring tacos, fajitas, and burritos, and much more. The carnitas tacos are excellent stuffed with rich, tender pork and topped minimally with fresh pico de gallo. They are served on blue corn tortillas, made fresh in house every day. Tacos come with rice or beans, but it is worth adding a side to get both.
Enmoladas, enchiladas with mole sauce, are another fantastic choice. Chicken filled tortillas are topped with a bold mole sauce and finished with queso fresco, red onion, sesame tostado & crema. The chicken is juicy and well-seasoned, but the mole sauce is the star. A side of rice would help not to leave any sauce behind.
For dessert, Bandoleros offers a superb tres leches. The sponge, which is soaked in three milks, has a texture reminiscent of cornbread. It is topped with whipped cream and fresh berries and sitting in a perfect puddle of cream.
Like any Mexican restaurant worth its salt, their cocktail program leans heavily on tequila and mezcal. Drinks feature fresh juices and homemade syrups. The Bandoleros is their house margarita sweetened with agave syrup. The Mesuda is beautifully balanced with anjeo tequila, aperol, maraschino liqueur, lemon, and finished with a mezcal wash. La Buchona is an easy drinking cocktail served in a champagne flute and garnished with a fresh strawberry. It starts with charanda, a spirit distilled from sugarcane in the State of Michoacán in Mexico, similar to rum. That is blended with aperol, pineapple, strawberry, and lemon.

With the addition of the Concord location, Bandoleros took a step up. The dining experience is more upscale than Devens. The room features a beautiful tile floor, leather seating, and dark wood tables. Looking out over it all is a mural of Emiliano Zapata, a leader of the Mexican Revolution of the early 20th Century.

Bandoleros is a welcome addition to the Concord food scene. They are off to a great start and will rival Adelita for top Mexican in town. Look below for more photos, updated regularly. And share your thoughts on Bandoleros and other Mexican dining in the area.
