With the closure of Chang An in Concord, locals were left scrambling for a new Chinese restaurant. Our pick to take its place is Beijing Chinese. Located on Mass Ave in downtown Lexington, this second floor dining room serves up outstanding traditional Chinese food.
Over several visits, every dish has been good. The Spicy Green Beans with Minced Pork is spectacular. The green beans are blistered but retain their snap and are tossed with delicious spicy ground pork. Other vegetable dishes like spicy cabbage and sautƩed bok choy are outstanding as well.
The peking duck is particularly good, available in full or half portions, and served with pancakes. Paired with one of the vegetables above and the fiery scorpion bowl, it makes a real feast. With friendly service and excellent food Beijing is our regular stop for Chinese.
