Weekly Roundup: Week 24 – 2023

Sunday 6.11
Lunch was another turkey sandwich with chips. For dinner, I decided to grill. I found a prime sirloin at Crosby’s for just $10.99 per pound. I also made potato salad and corn on the cob. Everything was delicious.

Monday 6.12
I made a little chicken salad melt for lunch today and finished off the last of my salt and vinegar chips. For dinner we went to Row 34. We got shrimp, oysters, crab, fries, and spicy tuna pate. I didn’t eat the oysters, allergic. After dinner, I grabbed a drink with Michael and ended up splitting some buffalo fingers from Tavern in the Square which were better than I expected.

Tuesday 6.13
My son had his preschool graduation today so I got a pizza from Sorrento’s for lunch before hand. For dinner we ordered from New London. I got my usual grilled chicken sub with bacon. My son got his usual chicken nuggets and fries. And I, as usual, ate some of his.

Wednesday 6.14
It must have been everything I ate on Monday, because I didn’t think I ate a lot yesterday and yet I wasn’t very happy when I got on the scale this morning. I packed a light lunch of chicken salad, pretzels, and yogurt. For dinner I made myself a pork chop with brussels sprouts. Hopefully the number will be better in the morning.

Thursday 6.15
Stopped into DeNo’s. I keep thinking they are almost done and then, nope. Though they are closer, I’m predicting July at this point. I think they started the project in March and told me three weeks. Despite the fact that I had to eat my sandwich at my desk today, it was excellent, the chicken kabob sub. It was much better than last Thursday’s steak and cheese.

I’m trying to get down a few pounds before vacation so I had a salad for dinner. It was pretty complicated. I made my cilantro-lime dressing. Of course there was lettuce and then carrot, red pepper, scallion, tomato, corn, black beans, and Mexican spiced chicken. It was really good, even if it did take about an hour to make a salad. I didn’t have dessert. You may notice that if you don’t count the late night buffalo wings on Monday, I haven’t had dessert all week. Crazy right?

Friday 6.16
My weight was great this morning, but I knew I was going out to dinner and so I had a small lunch of ham and cheese rollups with a few mini pretzels.

For dinner we went to Wusong Road. The food and drink was still awesome. We started with the Aloha Sliders. Not the best thing there, but good. We got Thomas popcorn chicken, but of course he couldn’t eat it all so we go to finish it. Absolutely amazing! Then we got shrimp tacos, brussels sprouts, and a scallion pancake roll-up with lemongrass chicken. For dessert we had coconut bread pudding. Can’t wait to go back.

Saturday 6.17
Well after last night, I really didn’t need to eat much today. I made some shredded buffalo chicken and turned it into a melt on a pita for lunch. I also ate some pretzels. Then I ate a few more pretzels before bed and that was my whole day.

Top Three
I had two cheat days but otherwise ate pretty light all week. Here are the three best things I ate:
3. Popcorn Chicken (Friday)
2. Steak, corn, and potato salad (Sunday)
1. Shrimp and Crab Cocktail (Monday)
